The Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, INC. serves seven cities in the valley as an Animal Control facility for stray dogs and cats. The main goal of our shelter is to make sure these animals have a comfortable and safe environment while they are in our care and to ultimately find them their forever homes. We strive to make sure that by finding the strays in the area and having them spayed and neutered before adoption we will lower the amount of animals in our area that are unwanted and being neglected.

Giving Week Progress:

  Programs Supported by Your Donations

Currently as an Animal Control facility, the community benefits from our organization because we are limiting the amount of strays in our area. In 2018 we were able to successfully trap and release over 350 cats in the county through our TNR program until the funds ran out. We worked closely with Tails of Hope for that program and hope to do that again to limit the amount of stray cats there are in our cities.

Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help

Currently it has been very hard for our animal shelter to keep up with the high veterinary cost we have incurred for our animals. Unfortunately, our adoption fee is not nearly enough to cover some of our animals needs and with fundraisers we were able to ensure those cost would be paid. In March of this year, we took on a dog with Heartworm Disease. This disease can be very deadly, but treatable. This dogs treatment was over $1,500. After being treated he is now negative and living an amazing life with his new family!
