Programs Supported by Your Donations
The Grove City Service Unit provides direct assistance to clients in need. This includes, food, utilities, rent, clothing, medicine, glasses and any other immediate needs. This assistance is provided by volunteers who give of their time to see people in the community and try to help them in moving forward, with budgets and other resources. We also provide special assistance to Senior Citizens and Children. The Senior Citizens live in two high rises in the community and have difficulty in paying bills due to lack of income. Our plans for July is to visit the two high rises and provide gift cards to a local grocery store and we will provide hygiene items and food. Funding is also needed for the Back to School Program. Usually we try to give them between $75-$100/child
Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help
This year has been especially difficult due to the COVID pandemic. While things were relatively quiet for April and May, we anticipate many clients coming to us for assistance for utilities and rent, due to being laid off etc. The program that we are most worried about losing is the back to school program. If we do not have the funding to assist these children because of the other emergency needs, we will have to forgo this program and it will affect a lot of children who rely on us every year to get new school clothes.
