Programs Supported by Your Donations
WaterFire Sharon PA is celebrating our 10th season in 2022. We have two events scheduled, July 23rd and September 24th. Our venue is open to the public, free of charge, from 2-11p. Sharon, PA is the only city to hold this world class event in the United States other than Providence, RI, where the event was founded 1994. Our event is funded by the generosity of donors, sponsorships and grants from VisitMercerCountyPA and PA Council on the Arts.
Our Artisan Marketplace will have 45-50 vendors lining State St. for guests to enjoy. Products are hand crafted by the artist, with some vendors creating during the event for visitors to enjoy.
We will have live musical entertainment on our Main Stage, located in the food court area, throughout the day and evening. Street performers will be interacting with guests throughout the venue, as well.
Children attending the event are encouraged to visit our Children's Fun Zone from 3-7p, located at the corner of State and Shenango St. There are many activities planned for kids including craft making using their imagination to create take home artwork, sand necklaces, bird feeders and tote bags. There are giant lego's, a music wall, mats for tumbling and water toys to enjoy.
At dusk, we light 55 floating bonfires, filled with pine, ablaze on the Shenango River accompanied by streaming music. The aroma and sound travel up the river banks, which are filled with guests enjoying the evening. We will have musical performers singing on a boat, along with a world-famous fire performer throughout the evening.
Donations received during the 2022 PA OH GIVES Giving Week will be used towards the purchase of supplies and musical entertainment for our 2022 season.
Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help
WaterFire Sharon PA is funded by donations, sponsorships and grants from VisitMercerCountyPA and PA Council on the Arts. The ability to raise funds to cover the expenses associated with the events has been a concern. Over the past few years, it has become more challenging due to the uncertain economic times individuals and businesses have faced since the pandemic began in 2020. We have made cost cutting decisions to reduce our overall budget. However, WaterFire Sharon PA brings 10,000 to 15,000 visitors per event, not only to downtown Sharon but our county and region, and we do not want to impact our guests time while attending the events by eliminating live entertainment or interactive experiences that everyone truly enjoys. Your financial support will be greatly appreciated.
