  Programs Supported by Your Donations

Akiva Academy continues to expand programs that enrich both students and the broader community. Now in its fourth year, the “Better Together” program pairs junior high students with senior citizens, fostering meaningful connections through shared projects like this year’s horticulture-themed art collaboration.

Students also benefit from unique educational opportunities, including a seventh-grade trip to the Cleveland Maltz Holocaust Museum and the Museum of Illusions, as well as an overnight experience at Ohio State University’s Stone Lab on Gibraltar Island, a distinction unique in the tri-county area. These experiences are provided free of charge through grants and student-led fundraising efforts.

Beyond the classroom, Akiva has expanded after-school intramurals, launched a Raspberry Pi coding program where students build their own computers, and maintained strong academic intervention programs, with state assessment scores comparable to nearby Blue Ribbon public schools. Rooted in a commitment to service, Akiva students also sponsored 19 children in Mahoning County foster care during the holidays, providing personalized gifts to brighten their season.

Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help

Akiva’s success is no longer a hidden gem in the Valley. Families throughout the community recognize the school’s strong reputation for academic excellence, student growth, and meaningful programming , so much so that enrollment reaches capacity within days of registration opening, driven almost entirely by word of mouth.

As demand continues to grow, Akiva launched expansion project to build a new state-of-the-art middle school across the street from its current campus. Scheduled to open for the 2026–2027 school year, the expansion will double enrollment capacity, allowing even more students and families to become part of the Akiva community. Help us cross the finish line on our campaign.
