The GCAHSAM was founded 25 years ago. Our purpose is to preserve the history, heritage, and supporting artifacts of the Grove City area. We have over 300 subscribing members, over 3,000 FaceBook followers and almost 50 volunteers which allow us to be open for visitors six days a week. Our building is over 100 years old and consists of three floors of exhibits, office, and meeting space.

Programs Supported by Your Donations
We offer our members and visitors six seminars a year on subjects of interest to the community. Our genealogy staff helps people trace their family histories. Our reference library is available to track down information on the local area and is regularly staffed. We have thirteen rooms organized by theme that display just part of our over 10,000 object collection. Our collection includes one full room of hammered aluminum objects. We also have the only remaining horse-drawn mail delivery wagon in Pennsylvania. Our newsletter is printed three times a year and is distributed to over 400 readers. We also have several books written by local authors.
Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help
Dealing with a building that is over 100 years old is a constant battle. We have to keep the roof up and the building tight to protect our collection and to make the building safe for visitors. This year we are also starting two new exhibits. The first exhibit is the Coal Exhibit and will feature the miner’s story, both written and recorded in interviews. The exhibit will also have maps, pictures, objects, a timeline, and the story of life in the mining towns in this area.
Our second exhibit is part two of our hammered aluminum forge.
