Grove City Area Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers hot and cold nutritious meals to elderly, disabled and convalescent members of the community at an affordable price. We deliver to Grove City, Leesburg, Mercer, Harrisville, and Slippery Rock. Sometimes our volunteers are the only person a client sees all day, being a safety-net particularly for those living alone.

Meals on Wheels helps people who may not be able to shop or cook for themselves and makes it possible for them to stay in their homes. The clients pay $4.00 per hot meal with the option to add a light cold supper for an additional $2.00. Our meals are made fresh, Monday-Friday, in our kitchen. Additional meals may also be ordered for the weekend and holidays. A 5-week rotation of meals is used, so there is a nice variety for our clients. Our meals are hand delivered to our clients by volunteers. They not only deliver a meal, but they also provide understanding, patience, smiles and listening ears. This is also a comfort to our client’s families, to have someone checking in on their loved ones, especially for the families who don’t live nearby.

The cost of the food and supplies used to prepare the cold and hot meals is not covered by the price that we charge the clients. We rely on donations to help cover the deficit, while keeping the meals affordable for our client base.
