ALPHA OMEGA CENTER

Alpha Omega Center's mission is to honor Christ by empowering mothers to choose life, educating individuals and families about healthy relationships, and providing medical services, material assistance, and spiritual support. We provide local families with pregnancy testing, ultrasound scans, and STD testing and treatment at no charge to them. To encourage and equip our community we provide parenting education and material support to families with children ages three and under. We also provide healthy relationships education to students in local public schools. All of our services are provided free of charge to individuals in need.

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION

The mission of the American Heart Association is to be a Relentless Force for a World of Longer Healthier Lives. We are focused on helping to make healthy choices the easy choices, educating our community on prevention for America's #1 and #4 Killers, Heart Disease and Stroke.

BEACON OF THE VALLEY

Beacon of the Valley Foundation focuses on helping kids 12 and under in Trumbull and Mahoning Counties in Ohio, as well as Mercer County in Pennsylvania. We see children struggling all around the world but we sometimes forget about the needs of children so close to home. Beacon of the Valley works with local businesses and awesome people in the Mahoning Valley to try and help these children live a life that they deserve

BEATITUDE HOUSE

For nearly 30 years, Beatitude House has been successful in its mission to create homes, provide educational opportunities and foster healthy families. Over 7,000 women and children have been served across our three programs. Our housing program assists homeless families with obtaining a home, subsidizing housing costs and providing voluntary support services to help them stabilize their lives. The Ursuline Sisters Scholars program helps low-income students break the cycle of poverty and get a new start by obtaining a post-secondary education. Our Immigrant Outreach program offers English as a Second Language classes (ESL), tutoring for school-aged children and outreach services.

BELOVED MERCY MINISTRIES

BeLoved Mercy Ministries (BMM) was established to address the need of families experiencing homelessness in the Grove City, PA school district area. The struggle with homelessness is particularly challenging in Grove City because there is not any easy access for homeless families to facilities and/or support. The closest aid is a 20-minute drive or more. BMM's mission is to provide dignified short-term housing as a bridge to restore long-term hope and self-sufficiency to the lives of our neighbors most in need.

BUHL CLUB (F.H. BUHL CLUB)

Our mission is to provide quality recreational, social, fitness and educational programs for people of all ages in our communities.

BUHL PARK

Buhl Park is brimming with opportunities to do, dream, and discover. It is the recreational and cultural gem in the heart of Western Pennsylvania's Shenango Valley. Our mission is to fulfill the Buhl legacy by providing recreation, education, and entertainment while promoting a healthy lifestyle and thriving environment. Our vision is to build a healthy, happy, and connected community. Beyond features and amenities, the Park fosters health and wellness, environmental stewardship, and regional economic development. On a personal level, Buhl Park is a breathtaking setting for memories and the inspiration for adventure, art and reflection. Rooted in an historic legacy of giving back and providing recreation, Buhl Park promises an exceptional outdoor recreational experience that is accessible to all and aims at enhancing quality of life.

BUILDING OF HOPE

The Building of Hope ministry started in the summer of 2017 to help people who have fallen on tough times. Our mission is to show the love of Christ by providing gently used furniture and basic household necessities at no cost. We have partnered with Laskey’s furniture in Sharon to help us fill the need of providing beds. The purchase of beds is how the majority of our grant funding is used. We also give out “Baskets of Hope” with toiletries, a Daily Bread devotional, and invite them to church. We provide a hand up, not a hand out.

CHRISTIAN ASSISTANCE NETWORK

Our mission is to help the poor, disabled, disadvantaged, and elderly with the basic needs of food, clothing, housing, and medical expenses.

CITY RESCUE MISSION

Founded in 1911, the Mission exists to meet the physical, emotional, relational and spiritual needs of hungry, homeless and hurting men, women and children in western Pennsylvania. This Mission is a privately-funded Christian ministry providing services based on need rather than ability to pay. Through faith-based programming, our guests and clients often experience an inward change resulting in many experiencing a renewed, transformed life.

COMMUNITY LIBRARY OF THE SHENANGO VALLEY

The Library is a patron-focused resource center, enhancing the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds by providing outstanding materials, programs, and technology in a safe and inviting environment. We offer adult, teen, and children's programs including fine art classes for adults and teens, toddler music programs, children's story time, and teen STEAM programs. We conduct annual summer reading programs for adults, children, and teens. infant and baby classes, and technology "gadget workshops" to help our residents increase their technology skills and expertise. Our outreach includes book clubs in our area's senior centers and nursing homes, and daycare story times.

DOWN SYNDROME ASSOCIATION OF THE VALLEY

The Down Syndrome Association of the Valley serves individuals with Down syndrome throughout eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Established in 2007, the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization provides programs, support, resources, advocacy, education and opportunity to individuals with Down syndrome, their families and our communities. DSAV promotes a day when people with Down syndrome are active participants in an inclusive society.

EAGLE'S NEST LIFE EQUIPPING CENTER

The Eagle’s Nest is a Christian ministry determined to equip pregnant women to move from homelessness to safe, stable housing, prepare for childbirth, achieve independence, and succeed as a new mother.

FAIRHAVEN FOUNDATION

The Fairhaven Foundation transforms the lives of those eligible for services through the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities. We enhance the quality of life of eligible individuals by intentionally engaging them in impactful programming, and supporting meaningful outcomes.

The Trumbull County Board of DD offers services to approximately 1,100 individuals with developmental disabilities in Trumbull County. Programs and Services provided by the Board include Early Intervention, Pre-School, School Age, School-to-Work Transition, Adult Services, Community Employment, Senior Retirement, Service and Support Administration (Case Management), Transportation, Residential Services, and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies.

GOOD SHEPHERD CENTER

The Good Shepherd Center is a multi denominational ministry established in 1991 to be of service to the economically challenged of the greater Greenville community. The Center shows concern for all individuals who enter our doors regardless of creed, race, nationality or lifestyle. The Good Shepherd Center became a reality out of the commitment of 12 area churches and has grown to 24 Board Member Congregations today.

GROVE CITY AREA UNITED WAY

The mission of the Grove City Area United Way is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community. In support of this mission, the GCAUW has identified the following funding areas, listed in order of priority:


1. Crisis Intervention - ensure individuals have adequate food, safety, housing and warmth

2. Supporting Vulnerable Populations - individuals at risk of being in crisis and who may have an ongoing need

3. Strengthening Families and Promoting Self-Sufficiency

4. Helping Children and Youth Succeed

HOPE CENTER FOR ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY, INC.

HopeCAT offers a unique blend of no cost youth and adult programs which break generational poverty cycles by helping people find hope within themselves. We cultivate productive citizens by mentoring students and helping them find a career path that includes a job at a livable wage with benefits and upward mobility. HopeCAT was built on the belief that environment shapes behavior, people are assets, and creativity fuels enterprise. It was molded after Bill Strickland's proven educational model founded in Pittsburgh over 50 years ago, which has now been replicated throughout the world.

INSPIRING MINDS

Since 2006, Inspiring Minds (IM) has provided thousands of under-represented youth with the opportunities and motivation to overcome the obstacles that stand between them and personal success. Our mission is to engage, inspire and empower youth through education and exposure to new experiences within a safe, positive environment; one that strengthens confidence and character. Our vision is to see every student graduate high school, complete college or a vocational school and become strong, successful members of our society. And our goal is to inspire youth to discover their passions and equip them with the tools needed to pursue them.

JOSHUA'S HAVEN

Joshua's Haven is dedicated to changing lives and giving hope to the hopeless. We accomplish this by "Feeding the hungry, Sheltering the homeless and Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ." We aim to provide a safe, clean environment to provide a meal, a shower, a bed to all who need it. Our Community Free Clinic is open to provide medical services to anyone who is uninsured.

LAWRENCE COUNTY YMCA

At the Lawrence County YMCA, our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy body, mind and spirit for all. Our vision is to develop a new generation of changemakers who will create communities which we'd all like to live. We envision communities where all people achieve health, gain confidence, make connections and feel secure at every stage of life.

LYDIA'S LOVE MOMENTS

Lydia’s Love Moments was founded while Lydia was hospitalized for 18 months of her first two years of life with a congenital heart disease (CHD). Her family's difficult experience helped us see the needs of heart families. Lydia's Love Moments serves CHD patients and their families while in Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. Our mission is to enrich the lives of these families by creating moments to love and inspire hope in their darkest days. We provide meals, activities, and support with the assistance of our generous donors and through fundraisers that increase awareness of congenital heart defects and organ donation.

MEALS ON WHEELS OF NEW CASTLE

Meals on Wheels of New Castle serves the greater New Castle area by providing fresh nutritious food, delivered each weekday right to the client's door. Our clients are mostly homebound and elderly, disabled, or have chronic illness, but we serve any adult in need of nutritional support both long and short term. Our clients are charged a fee for the meals, and that fee is exactly what our expenses are for food and preparation. Meals are delivered by caring volunteers who help clients feel less isolated, and check on the well-being and safety of each individual.

MERCER COUNTY COALITION FOR DRUG AWARENESS

ROAR Center provides interaction through activities and events for people to learn healthy alternatives to drug use. Our goal is to help people learn how to have fun again sober through social interaction and new hobbies while providing support and understanding. We work to eliminate the stigma of addiction and promote long-term recovery. We offer space for recovery support groups to meet and continue to grow our activities for those working on their recovery and their families and loved ones.

MERCER COUNTY MENTORING

Our mission is to Support Children Through the Power of Positive Relationships. Mercer County Mentoring’s goal is to connect children in Mercer County with a volunteer from the community that can be an encouraging role model to help guide them, expose them to new opportunities, advocate for them as they face challenges, and celebrate their successes. Mercer County Mentoring facilitates the connection between volunteers and children while managing and maintaining these relationships by providing support to each child, parent, and volunteer in the program

NEW CASTLE PLAYHOUSE

In 1958, the New Castle Playhouse (NCP) was incorporated as a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization. Since that time, we have been enriching the lives of our community through live theatrical performances, a goal that is clearly reflected in our mission statement: The New Castle Playhouse exists to foster community pride, civic renewal, and cultural enlightenment, through quality theater arts experiences, produced by the community, for the community. We strive to provide quality productions to our community, and also to provide those individuals with a desire to express their creativity through theater, a venue to do that.

NORTHEAST OHIO ADOPTION SERVICES

NOAS serves at-risk youth and young adults in Mahoning Valley’s child welfare system by recruiting, preparing, and supporting families with a goal of lifelong permanency. While we envision a day where every child finds their forever home, the reality is thousands of children will never experience this type of stability. As such, we offer many programs to address the mental and physical health risks faced by foster care youth and young adults, including the elevated risks of Covid-19. Expanded services address the isolation and loneliness that current and former foster youth face on a daily basis, also escalated by COVID-19.

SHENANGO RIVER WATCHERS

Shenango River Watchers is a 501(c)(3)non-profit watershed group formed to restore and protect the environmental, scenic, and recreational attributes of the Shenango River Watershed. Working together, our members, volunteers and donors have made SRW an award-winning organization. Our projects include environmental education, water quality and aquatic life research, cleanups and recycling as well as creating recreational opportunities.

SHENANGO VALLEY ANIMAL SHELTER, INC.

The Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, INC. serves seven cities in the valley as an Animal Control facility for stray dogs and cats. The main goal of our shelter is to make sure these animals have a comfortable and safe environment while they are in our care and to ultimately find them their forever homes. We strive to make sure that by finding the strays in the area and having them spayed and neutered before adoption we will lower the amount of animals in our area that are unwanted and being neglected.

SHENANGO VALLEY MEALS ON WHEELS

The Shenango Valley Meals on Wheels serves people who are unable to shop for groceries or prepare nutritious meals for themselves either because of physical or mental reasons. Clients must live in the Shenango Valley, Greenville area or Brookfield.Masury, Ohio. We are in our 50th year of service to help our local seniors.

SHENANGO VALLEY URBAN LEAGUE, INC.

The mission of the Shenango Valley Urban League, Inc. is to ensure equal access and opportunity for African Americans and others in need; to empower individuals to cultivate and exercise their fullest potential. The Shenango Valley Urban League implements its mission through advocacy, bridge building, program services and research. The Shenango Valley Urban League started in 1968 as an affiliate of the National Urban League. We are a civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in urban communities. Programs include Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Housing, Education/Youth, Employment.

SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL TRUMBULL COUNTY, INC

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been providing practical, emergency safety-net services to Trumbull County residents in need for more than 90 years. We work one-on-one with those suffering, regardless of race or creed, to bridge the spiritual, emotional and material gaps in their lives through home visits provided by caring volunteers; groundbreaking initiatives like the Sleep Soundly program; network of 4 local food pantries, area thrift store and furniture bank. SVDP is a network of neighbors, inspired by Gospel values, working to build a more just world through personal relationships with, and service to, people in need.

ST. PAUL'S

St. Paul’s is a nonprofit, faith-based senior living community, serving more than 700 older adults daily through a full continuum of care. Services offered include home care, community living, independent living, personal care, memory care, short stay care, rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing.

The mission of St. Paul’s is to provide meaning, richness of life, health care, and other support services, while maintaining and enhancing the dignity of human life. The vision of St. Paul’s is to create a sense of belonging and purpose by providing a nurturing environment in a place you call home.

TAILS OF HOPE, INC.

Tails of Hope, Inc.’s Mission is to strive to impact pet over-population through spay/neuter programs, and support of rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and education. By doing this we serve our Purpose of existing to eliminate neglect, abuse and suffering of animals resulting in improved overall quality of animal life. And by doing this we intend to achieve our Vision, where the world will be a better place when it values and ensures the well-being of companion animals, treating them with kindness and compassion.

Its mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Comprehensive Social Services is The Salvation Army’s most universal service provided at every location operated by the organization. As part of this program, a variety of services to aid financially struggling individuals and families in crisis.

TRAILS END CONSERVANCY, INC

Trails End Conservancy program Fly High with Horses offers Veterans in the surrounding community a chance to work with horses and learn Equine horsemanship. We also offer 2 other programs a “woman’s only” and a “family-based” program. Each of these programs offer positive shared experiences with horses. Our mission is to help as many veterans struggling with trauma and include their families to improve everyday life.

TRUMBULL MOBILE MEALS

Founded in 1970, Trumbull Mobile Meals (TMM), is a non-profit community based home meal delivery service that provides nutritious meals to members of Trumbull County. The overall objective of TMM is designed to improve the lifestyle of our members

Our mission is to ensure that “No person Goes Hungry” in our neighborhoods.

WEST HILL MINISTRIES

WHM is a ministry organization that provides services to the Shenango Valley. After school programs, senior luncheons, clothing/household closet, food donations, are all funded through donations and grants. COVID 19 has had a huge impact on the needs of our area. WHM must take the appropriate steps in order to resume our regular programming in a safe and healthy manner. All monies raised will help to meet the needs of families and children in our area.

WHOLE LIFE SERVICES

We provide people with support to create a meaningful and purposeful life, by making informed choices and their own decisions. The people we support will have an everyday life, by participating in their community, working for a competitive wage or through an entrepreneurial venture, and living where they choose. This is accomplished by supporting them to feel safe, comfortable, accepted, and by educating the community.

WILLOW WOMEN'S CENTER

Our mission is to serve women facing unexpected pregnancies in a medical, ethical and non-judgmental setting. Our goal is to be her first step in facing her current situation. We provide medical testing which includes pregnancy testing, ultrasound to confirm viability and STD testing if desired. We share with her the truth about her options (abortion, adoption & parenting), while also making her aware of the many resources available to her in our very own community. Our desire is to turn her fear into confidence so that she is able to make a life-affirming decision for herself & her baby.

YMCA OF FRANKLIN & GROVE CITY

The mission of the YMCA of Franklin & Grove City is to foster strong individuals, families and communities with Christian values by providing quality programs that strengthen spirit, mind and body for all.

YWCA MAHONING VALLEY

The YWCA Mahoning Valley is a non-profit agency on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, dignity, and freedom for all. In 2018, YWCA Warren and YWCA Youngstown merged to become one YWCA serving the Valley. Established in 1904 in Youngstown, and 1916 in Warren, the YWCA has over 218 years’ combined experience providing quality services and innovative programming to meet the changing needs of women, girls, and families in our region. We carry out our mission through housing with supportive services, childcare and youth development programming, empowerment programming, and racial justice education.

ZION EDUCATION CENTER

Zion Education Center provides high quality educational services to under-served children to ensure continuity of care occurs between home, childcare, formal school, and school age programs.

As a result, meaningful relationships are established with Sharon, Farrell, and Hermitage School Districts to gain insight about coordinating educational strategies between the district, our families, and our early childhood classrooms.

Zion’s continuous quality improvement plan consists of a 7-I strategy to maintain high quality: Instruction; Individualization; Implementation; Interaction; Inspiration; Intentionality; and Inclusion. These core values help us to achieve our mission statement; "Empowering young children to Excel beyond poverty and Exceed their Environment."
