HYC serves as a source of necessary tools, resources or funds to under-resourced youth. We focus our efforts in three specific areas: Academic Achievement, Health and Physical Development, and Community Service. We actively involve local youth with programming and volunteer opportunities to cultivate community mindedness and offer a better understanding of the needs of the society and world around them.

HYC creates, hosts and partners in charitable events that are unique, participatory and inspiring. We continue to enhance our capability to fulfil our service-minded vision and mission by establishing partnerships with local organizations, civic leaders, community members and school districts.

Programs Supported by Your Donations

Summer Enrichment Program: The purpose of the program is to provide scholarships to current grades 6 - 12 students for summer camp/program experiences to inspire creativity, build a knowledge base, gain leadership skills, or provide them with the opportunity to explore future career paths.

After School Health & Wellness Program: The purpose of the program is to provide a safe after school environment with instructor led educational sessions and activities along with a nutritional component after the activities are completed.

Instructors and mentors will lead our youth in 3 specific areas:
1. Educational lessons related to nutrition, physical activity, and screen-time reduction.
2. Structured physical activities.
3. Providing a healthy snack/meal for the youth that participate.

The educational component will help the children understand how to perform activities safely and choose foods wisely.

The fun based activities will help combat the obesity issues in our community and allow the children to have fun while being active. This will help reinforce their decision to choose activities over screen time.

Providing a nutritious snack/meal will help fuel their bodies, but also help provide healthy options to "latch key" kids that often do not have access to healthy snacks between lunch and dinner.

Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help

Donations would enable us to continue to build upon and add to our programs during the year. We strive to serve more youth each year and this increases our costs as well. The Hubbard community, including businesses and individuals, is very generous, however, we are experiencing ‘donor fatigue.’ That is, the same individuals and organizations are being asked to support many causes, and their funds are limited. Thus, we strive to diversify and expand our donor base, e.g., by participating in PA-OH Gives.
