JOY IN THE JOURNEY
SERVING LAWRENCE COUNTY AND THE SURROUNDING AREA
AMOUNT DONATED: $0
"Founded in memory of Abby Joy, this foundation will bless children and families as they walk incredibly difficult medical paths."
Abby Joy was born with a rare genetic condition that impacted many body systems. She was a cancer survivor and worked her way off of ventilator dependence after two years. She passed away at age 3 from an unexpected seizure. Through all her medical challenges she showed a true joy that was beyond circumstances that comes only from Jesus. We hope to help other families find JOY through difficult circumstances.

FUNDRAISING GOAL: $5,000
Programs Supported by Your Donations
In our first year of service we have provided multiple power boxes/generators to families bringing home vent dependent children from the hospital. (A backup power source is a necessity for the safety of these children.) We able to give over $9,000 to pediatric cancer research through our annual 'Laps of Love' fundraiser. Meals have been provided to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh NICU as well as Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh. Complex Care families were given gift cards and more through our 'envelope gifts.' Nebulizers have been purchased for trach children (whose insurance was not covering them). Thanksgiving gifts were given to families at Pittsburgh Children's Home. Ronald McDonald families were gifted Christmas presents. These are just some of our projects in the first year. Please check out our website for a more complete scope.
Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help
Our organization has grown quickly in one year and we would love to be able to do even more for families walking through medical difficulties. The generators/power boxes for example are hundreds of dollars each and we want to make sure no family is turned away that has that need (currently from CHP, and would love to expand to other local hospitals as well). Increased funding would be a blessing to sustain all of our current projects and be able to create even more.
