MERCER COUNTY ADULT EDUCATION CENTER
SERVING THE SHENANGO VALLEY, GREENVILLE / NORTHERN MERCER COUNTY, AND GROVE CITY
AMOUNT DONATED: $0
It is the mission of MCAEC to provide adult education services to individuals throughout Mercer County who are not enrolled in secondary school.
That mission includes offering free classes and one-on-one tutoring to adults seeking to improve their literacy skills in reading, writing, math, English, and computer use. This instruction will provide students the chance to obtain, retain, or improve upon a job, complete their high school education, and/or prepare to enter college, trade school, or the workforce.

Programs Supported by Your Donations
Our organization offers several programs that directly benefit from community support:
GED Preparation Classes help adult learners build math, reading, and writing skills needed to earn a high school equivalency diploma, opening pathways to employment and postsecondary education.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes support non-native speakers in developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, helping them gain confidence, secure employment, and engage more fully in the community.
Digital Literacy Classes provide essential computer skills, including basic technology use, internet navigation, and workplace software, ensuring participants can succeed in today’s digital world.
Lifelong Learning Classes offer enrichment opportunities that promote personal growth, financial literacy, workforce readiness, and community engagement.
Donations directly support instructional materials, technology access, and expanded class offerings, allowing us to serve more individuals and meet growing community needs.
Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help
Demand for our programs continues to grow, particularly for GED, ESL, and Digital Literacy classes, but limited funding has restricted our ability to expand. We currently face waitlists, reduced class frequency, and limited access to updated technology and instructional materials. Over the past year, fundraising challenges have made it difficult to add instructors or extend service hours. As a result, some individuals are delayed in gaining critical skills needed for employment, education, and daily life. Additional funding would allow us to serve more learners, reduce wait times, and provide the resources necessary for student success.
