Since 1994, Shoe Our Children has delivered 67,517 pairs of shoes to local school children in need. Anyone qualifying, from pre-k through 12th grade, receives a pair of new athletic shoes at no cost to them. The program services all districts in Mercer County PA and our neighboring district in Brookfield, Ohio. Our mission is to be sure no child starts school without a new pair of shoes and no child in need of shoes during the school year goes without. It's a matter of comfort, health, and dignity for the student.

Programs Supported by Your Donations
Shoe Our Children is run by 100% volunteers. Volunteers source and buy the shoes, pack and then deliver the shoes to the school districts. The shoes are purchased with donations. Every dollar donated to Shoe Our Children goes directly to purchasing the shoes for the program. Since our inception in 1994, 67,517 shoes have been purchased and delivered to students in need.
Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help
School children in need are a serious reality in our area. The number of students in need is not getting smaller, while the costs of shoes we provide for them is getting larger. That growing gap requires us to rely heavily on donations. We never want to see a school student do without, or wearing shoes that cause blisters, don't fit right, etc. We know kids have gone to school in ill fitting shoes, soles coming off, holes on the sides -even a family member's that were sizes to big. We're out to change that!
