Two years ago, The Salvation Army of New Castle was granted with an Emergency Feeding Vehicle.
Our team created a mobile feeding program in January 2022 based upon need of the community.
We fed between 40-50 lunch meals every Monday at Skyview Towers a local low income Highrise. In 2023 we are now serving 80 meals a week on Mondays.

The meals include protein, vegetables, fruit , dessert and beverage.

People have enjoyed chicken Parm, hamburgers, hotdogs, salads, fruit, tuna noodle casserole, chicken and biscuits. The funds raised at this wonderful fundraising event will help us to purchase food, disposable plates, cups, utensils, napkins. We also started last year ordering in fresh fruits and vegetables once a month. We have seen this grow from 20 families coming in a month to know 290 families came thru for the month of May. We have given away watermelons, cabbage, apples, mangos, cucumbers collard greens walnuts, potatoes, squash, and so more.

Needs that Cannot beMet without Your Help

The Salvation Army started a little over a year ago a walk-through choice pantry at the end of the month. Families can get fresh produce like lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, onions, sweet potatoes, potatoes, turnips, cabbage, and celery. Frozen fruit, corn on the cob, meats, fish and more. We started with 50 families and now we are up to 500. We still provide meals on Mondays for 85 people.

We carry personal hygiene items as we have found there is a need for this due to the prices of things going up. We assist fire victims with items they have lost in a fire clothing and other items.
